Changing rooms the Made by Marley way...

Final Moroccan-inspired hallway transformation
Snapshot of the final result

Do you ever walk past a space in your home and think it needs a total refresh? A change? Or, like me, do you catch yourself saying, "I could do better in this room?" Well, that happened to me last week.

Before: Hallway with floral wallpaper
Here's how it all started...

I have a small hallway that leads to other rooms—really just a through-space. A couple of years ago, I had wallpapered it with a discount-bin find from B&Q. Honestly, it was never my taste. Our cottage is bright, bohemian, and eclectic, and this space just didn’t fit.

So, as you do when there are far more pressing things to do, I decided to change the entire look in a day. Cue me moving everything out of the room… while Marty raised an eyebrow.

To create a more inviting aesthetic,

I painted over the twee florals with a blend of oranges, reds, and browns—think Morocco—rich, warm, and full of life.

Then, I used our brand-new "Rock the Kasbah" stencil to create a stunning Moroccan-inspired wall design.

Blues and turquoise from an existing rug tied it all together beautifully.

Stenciling is such an easy, cost-effective way to transform a space. Our Made by Marley stencils made all the difference, adding character and depth to the hallway.

I secured the stencil with low-tack tape to prevent movement and layered in extra detail with the star from the same set. Even the little fireplace got a touch of stencil love!

But I wasn’t done yet. I decided to mix in our new Geode decoupage paper, using it to accent door apertures and shutter doors.

I cut out organic shapes from the paper and applied them around the hall to complement the stencil work.

Once everything was dry, I "shopped my home" to style my newly revamped hallway.

I tacked woven baskets to the wall, added faux plants for texture and height, and let the new patterns shine.

Now, this once-forgotten space has warmth, character, and a Pinterest-worthy boho vibe. My family agrees—it’s a major upgrade!

I liked what you did using your stencils to transform the wall, but I was much more drawn to the door! All the details, the patterns, it took my breath away. I don't think you demonstrated painting the door in the video??? Wish you had ~ sigh.... Would love to see you recreate something like that for us.
