Vintage dining room Bench kitchen hallway storage

This incredibly old bench was saved cleaned and lightly sanded to remove all the old chipping paint and varnish. The patina was left as it was with the colours of the natural wood versus the painted and varnish parts giving this bench a beautiful texture and a line between Distressed and painted.  The wood has been re-conditioned with wax that will feed the old timber. The painted back panels have been painted in a British heritage colour called rail blue. And I have applied a toile inlay over the panel and then stamped apples giving this a rich autumnal look using mustard and a dark red. 
This bench has a lift-up panel in the seat for lots of storage shoes etc. The whole piece was then sealed. Fabulous as a hallway statement piece or a dining room or kitchen bench.
